Origin of gems

Geologists divide rocks in three key groups, depending on how they are created: magmatic, metamorphic and sedimentary.   In each of these forms, gems can be found . The assorted forms are the answer of different processes,  together , they form  a continuous rock cycle.

The rock cycle

      A young stone  devellops itself under the influence of wind. rain and ice (Weather). displacement and abrasion (erosion) ordeposition (sediment), from which a new stone is conceived and continues to.

Locations

Gemstones are found in rocks in which they were born  or in sediment suche as the stony bottom of a riverbed, caused by weathering and erosion of rock.

Diamonds and other semi precious stones, are carried  by rivers and streams and deposited ir curves (alluvial), in sand on the coast (Jitoral) or on the sea floor (naval).

Magmatic rocks

Formation of stones from magma may take millions of years, The magma cools below the surface of the Earth,  In the magma devellops ,influenced by changing temperature and pressure, solid crystals that ultimateiy changes into stones.    The  slower the cooling , the bigger  the cristals.     This type of rock. like granite, are called Intrustve magmatic rocks: it occurs within the earth.

Extrusief magmatic rocks

Magmatische stone can also be develloped  when magma comes from a volcano or crack reaches the surface level  in the form of lava or ash.     Olivijnbazatt is volcanic rock in  whiich there are olivijnkristalls . The mineral that experts call peridot.    Zircon, ruby, azure. moonstone, topaz and the rare bixbiet can crystalize out of lava .

Sedimentary rocks devellops by, erosion and deposition or other rocks and evaporation, transporting it cool liquids with many minerals,     From suche sedimentary processes rise for instance turquoise. malachite, rhodochrosite, amethyst and agate .    Opal  occurs whenfluids containig silcan bones and shells opalise..

Metamorphic rock

Metamorphic rock are created when a stone is ill-shapen under the influence of pressure and temperature and new minerals and crystals are created.    This may occurs during  the formation of new mountatns, but also during less dramatic processes in the earthcrust, suche as shilling and bending.     The rubies from Myanmar (formerly Burma) arose from a dash ofthe Indien subcontinent with Asia 65 miilion years ago when It  pushed up the greatest mountain range, the Himalayas.    Jadeit is found in metamorphic stone, river rocks and pebbles

Pegmatite

Intrusive magmatic rocks Pegmatite is formed in the final stage crystaitzation and can form huge crystals and

more precious stones  than any other rock whatsoever.  The most famous place  is Minas Gerais in Brazil,

where large, clear crystals like tourmaline, topaz, and aquamarijn morganiet are found.     Other

sites are in California, the province of Nuristan in Afghanistan, the Altai Mountains

Northwest China and near Yekaterinburg (formerly Sverdlovsk), Russia.     From hot, mineral-rich fluids

in cracks and crevices amethyst, topaz, emerakj and benitoiet can devellop
